In Training Day (2001) During the poker scene, Jakes three of a kind normally beats Snipers two pair, but this isn’t necessarily true since they specifically say “Jokers are wild”, which leads to the “Wild Poker Paradox”

The Wild Poker Paradox explained, specifically showing the rankings: https://youtu.be/eVnPbA0QUec?t=420

I stumbled upon this randomly learning about paradoxes, so I'm unsure how this holds up. In the Training Day scene, Jake joins the hispanic gang for a quick hand of 5 card draw poker, where "Moreno" played by Noel Gugliemi says that "jokers are wild". They play their hands and "Jake" played by Ethan Hawke says that he has "three of a kind, two jacks", which causes "Sniper" played by Raymond Cruz to cheer saying he has two pair. Everyone begins to laugh and make fun of Sniper saying three of a kind beats two pair, but this isn't necessarily true when jokers are wild, which Ethan Hawk has with his two jacks and a wild joker.

Essentially, wild cards can turn into any card needed to give you your best hand. When a wild card is introduced (such as a joker), the possible winning combinations change, which specifically change the rankings of "three of a kind" and "two pair". Since the rankings are changed, it forces the wild card you have to change to the higher ranking combination needed to make your best hand, thus leading to a paradox.

Edit: Thinking more about the scene, this might also be foreshadowing that shows Jake is a "wild card", changing the normal winning rankings, being able to take down "Alonso" played by Denzel Washington in the end.
