I'm not sure if this is common knowledge trivia, but TIL that Edgar Wright had the idea for Baby Driver 20 years before he made it.
In 2003, he made a Mint Royale music video that contained the basis for his idea behind Baby Driver. A getaway driver that uses a specific piece of music to time out an escape.
In Baby Driver, the getaway with Jamie Foxx where they are chased by a Marine ended up taking longer than the piece of music that Edgar Wright had selected for the scene.
Instead of replacing the music with a longer track they went back and added a shot where Baby rewinds the iPod when they steal a car so that the song lasts long enough for the scene. It highlighted that the music Baby picked out would have been long enough if there weren't complications with the Marine in the getaway.
